News You Can Use

Message from Rabbi Price - Education Director -
Baruchim HaBaim - Welcome.

In a Synagogue rich with communication vehicles we have found we still need a way to communicate with RS families in timely fashion. This Religious School section of our synagogogues website can be updated daily and we are hoping to be able to give you the latest information we have in the quickest possible fashion. I would suggest that you book mark this page on your web-browser. In the near future we will also post teacher pages with assignments as well as articles, links and other important information. Stay tuned....

When We Say Welcome....We Mean Welcome!

We know we face some challenges in our building as far as space is concerned. But we do welcome parents to come in observe, congregate and make new friends. We often have many parents sit in on our RS Services held on Sundays for grades Jr-Chai- 3rd, and Wednesday and Thursdays for grades 4 through 7. In addition we are planning other events dedicated to getting you inside the building and have the opportunity to meet with one another as well as with TBC clergy during school hours. This will be a wonderful way to meet new friends, stay connected with the synagogue and ask questions. In anticipation of our new building we would like to start this policy now. Our vision is to create space where all can congregate during school hours. In many cases there will additional events like a book fair, blood drive, or nature walk going on.

Keeping Up the Hebrew Skills During
Summer Vacation

Parents are asking us all the time, "What can their children do during the summertime to keep up with their Hebrew skills?"

We have a wonderful interactive way for the students to practice their Hebrew and prayers in preparation for their B'nai Mitzvah.

The company where we buy our books has great website for the children to learn prayers and practice learning and reinforcing Hebrew.  It is quite simple.  The children will register and create a screen name and password.  They can then sign in and click on the little mouse that will link them to a learning session.  One is for prayers, another for the alef bet, and still another for Hebrew.

All you will need to do is copy and paste this link in to your web browser to begin the adventure.  We hope that the children will find this fun.

The students should continue to practice about 15-30 minutes per day to keep their skills sharp.

Have a wonderful summer!  We will see you again in September!
